Yaganti basavaiah history and Temple Legends : Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Siva located in Kurnool district. Sri Veerabhadra Swamy is the Kshetra Palaka (Protector) of this temple. Neganti is the actual name of this place, which means ‘I have seen’, as time passes by locals started calling by Yaganti.
Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple Nandi
Most interesting part of Yaganti Nandi was sculptured on a single rock and is growing by an inch over the span of 20 years. Unlike other siva temples, Nandi is not seated right opposite to Lord Siva, it is located to the side of main mantap. Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy mentioned in his prophecy that at the end of Kaliyuga, Yaganti Nandi will come alive and shouts loudly.
