Mini Zoo is the only zoo in Andamans situated at Haddo in Port Blair. Though it is a small zoo but houses some of the rare species of endemic birds and animals found in these islands. Visitors get to see several exotic species of wildlife at the Mini Zoo. The major attractions are the salt water crocodiles.
It works for animal conservation and helps to protect wildlife. Located at Port Blair, it houses rare animal and bird species. Amongst the prime attractions here is the salt water crocodile. A visit to this Mini zoo brings out some inexperienced facts about the time alone of the animals living in the zoo. About 200 species of animals and birds inhabit this zoo. Two rare species of birds and animals Nicobar pigeon and Andaman pig can be spotted here.

Mini Zoo can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 8 AM to 12 noon and 1 PM to 5 PM.

Forest Museum of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is located near the renowned zoo at Haddo. It is a perfect place to trip for the tourists who are interested in the woods of the Andaman Islands. This Forest Museum has a multiplicity of scale models on flaunt. On Sundays and the national holidays this museum remains closed. You can visit it from 8 AM to 5 PM with about a 2 hour break at 12 noon. The Forest Museum was established by the department of forestry. The collection at Forest Museum includes unusual decorative objects made up of reputed varieties of timber found in the Andaman Islands. Some of these varieties are Pedauk, Marble, Peauma, Gurjan and Satinwood. This museum explicates the lumbering methods to the visitors.

Reaching Forest Museum and Mini Zoo is not very difficult. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are connected to some main locations of mainland India both by airways and seaways. You can reach Port Blair with the help of the flights regularly operated between the key destinations of Kolkata, Port Blair and Chennai. Forest Museum and Mini Zoo can reached by local transport in Port Blair.
